HELP SAVE AMERICORPS
SEND AN EMAIL
For decades, AmeriCorps members have responded to our country's most immediate and critical needs. They are the “people power” that local nonprofit, faith-based, and community organizations rely on to deliver services and make a difference in local communities. While helping others, AmeriCorps members develop in-demand job skills, preparing a cohort of Americans to succeed in the workforce, and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers experience a decrease in isolation and loneliness.
Cuts to AmeriCorps directly impact Alaskan kids. AmeriCorps volunteers currently serve as afterschool and summer camp staff throughout the state (or did until recent cuts). Sign on to send an email.

Individual Action on State Level
Opposition to HB71/HB74.
This legislation could result in felony charges against homeless Alaskans and the organizers of unpermitted protests. It says that someone who “obstructs or blocks a public place” by dropping a substance or using “any other means” may be liable for a class C felony, the lowest-level felony in state law.
For more info, read: https://alaskabeacon.com/briefs/gov-dunleavy-reintroduces-bill-to-penalize-unpermitted-public-protests-as-felonies/

Stop Attacking Transgender Americans
The Trump administration is denying accurate passports to trans, intersex, and nonbinary people – so I’m joining the ACLU to fight back. Urge the State Department to reject this dangerous attack on our rights.
