MAD Media Writers' Workshop
About this event
The MAD Media Writers' Workshop will bring together experienced and aspiring writers to help each of us make our voices heard on issues related to the media and press freedom. We will provide advice about how to write an effective letter to the editor or opinion column and how to get it published. We will also discuss other ways you can express your views and have an impact including thanking reporters, connecting to editors and submitting regulatory comments.
We will have ideas of what to write about but also support you on media-related issues you would like to write about. We will look to tailor the workshops to the interests of the attendees. Each session will include advice, community, and actions to take.
We are a non-partisan all volunteer group that engages in actions to directly improve the quality of public information such as messaging, fighting disinformation, engaging in media accountability and in growing support for local journalism.
We see journalists and the media as accountable allies essential for an informed democracy, countering dangerous disinformation and propaganda and promoting the common good.
